AAKI Consultants
A Medium Sized Firm with Big Designs

AAKI was registered in February 1991 but started full operations in 1994. Since its formation in April 1994, the consultancy has evolved from a small firm to a dynamic medium size practice widely acknowledged for its creative and innovative works.

In the short period it has been in existence, it has contributed to the molding of the skyline of Nairobi CBD and its environs. This has been as a result of the effective leadership of the firm’s partners, Mr. Gitau Mungai and Mr. Kariuki Muraya backed by a closely knit team of technical and administrative staff.

The Scope

AAKI Consultants offers services in architectural design, contract management, urban designs, feasibility studies and financial analysis both for public and private organisations. The firm has managed to forge close ties with its clients by enabling them to participate in the whole design process from inception to project implementation.

The clients therefore are part and parcel of conceptualisation, development and implementation of the design product. In order to ensure that their design quality is maintained, AAKI recruits its staff from the top cadre of the industry who are interested in broadening their knowledge. The firm also subscribes to both local and international journals so as to keep abreast with new ideas.

AAKI Consultants is one of Kenya’s leading medium-sized firms of architects, fully owned and managed by indigenous Kenyans. Within its short history, the practice has accomplished major projects in Kenya and several other countries in the region.

The firm also excels in the field of Computer Aided Design. This is an area the firm intends to expand with a view to improving their services by enabling clients to choose from well-explored design possibilities and their cost implications. Indeed, AAKI has at the moment managed to computerise all its operations.

Constant upgrading of the systems and programmes coupled with internal training has kept the staff at par with the most current developments in software packages. In order to avoid working in isolation and inbreeding, the firm has a list of specialist consultants who are engaged on commission basis when specialised services are required. AAKI Consultants’ offices are located at Dale House on Rhapta Road, Westlands.
